Copiague girls basketball is in the middle of what could potentially be a magical season. As of the writing of this article, the Eagles stand at 13-5 on the season and have run through the Suffolk III schedule at a 9-3 pace.

Not to get lost was a major achievement by the coach of Copiague, 19-year head coach Carole Olsen, who won her 300th game with the Eagles.

Robert Moses Middle School performs Beauty and the Beast, Jr.

Under the leadership of Tiina Buehler and as part of a two-month residency with Plaza Theatrical Productions, students at Robert Moses Middle School in the North Babylon School District performed “Beauty and the Beast, Jr.” The show starred Isabella LeBlanc as Belle, and was the product of approximately 50 students comprising the cast and crew.

Student Jhan Karlo wrote to James Dean, author of Pete the Cat. Dean not only took the time to read the letter, but also was kind enough to send Karlo an autographed copy of his book.

After the first meet, the school’s eighth grade team was ranked No. 2 in the nation, with two students tied for No. 1, Colin Delaney and Christopher Frase. Babylon boys hoops finishes season at County final

After losing in the county final, it is simple to forget all that you accomplished in a season. The heartbreak is real.

That is the case of the Babylon Panthers boys basketball program.

“We felt we had a good run this year,” said senior forward Joe Rende. “Ultimately we fell short of the goal we had from the beginning of the year…that was winning the County final.”
