Lindenhurst Middle School students honored at Breakfast for Champions celebration
Lindenhurst Middle School students were honored at the first Breakfast for Champions celebration of the 2017-18 school year. The monthly event was coordinated by middle school educator Kathleen Curran and held on Oct. 24.

The first few months of the school year have been busy for the cub scouts of Pack 104 in West Babylon. However, I want to start by inviting all readers to our first big fundraising event: Pasta Night on Sun., Dec. 10, 5-8 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Babylon.
• WEST ISLIP HOMECOMING •
The West Islip school community came together on Oct. 7 for a perfect day of pride and parading, fun and football.
• COPIAGUE HOMECOMING •
The community came out in full force to support Copiague School District during its homecoming celebration on Sept. 16. Eagle pride was soaring as the day kicked off with a parade, followed by a fair, football game and Hall of Achievement inductions.
• FARMINGDALE HOMECOMING •
The Farmingdale School District recently celebrated its annual homecoming parade at Farmingdale High School. During the event, hundreds of parents, students, and proud members of the community dressed in green watched the parade and supported the Dalers. Homecoming festivities began with pep rally, followed by the homecoming parade and football game.
• NORTH BABYLON HOMECOMING •
Hundreds of North Babylon School District students, faculty, families and community residents painted the town blue and white as they gathered for homecoming at the high school for an afternoon full of football, fun, food and festivities on Oct. 14.
• Babylon HOMECOMING •
Despite the less than favorable weather in the morning and early afternoon, the clouds began to clear for Babylon as the community displayed their school spirit and support for Babylon Junior-Senior High School’s Panthers football team at the homecoming celebration on Oct. 14.
• DEER PARK HOMECOMING •
The Deer Park community came out in force for the homecoming parade on Oct. 21, filling the streets from John F. Kennedy Intermediate School to the high school with a sea of proud maroon and white. Leading the way was Grand Marshal Tony Martinez, a managing partner of Texas Roadhouse.
• LINDENHURST HOMECOMING •
The Bulldog community came out in full force to support the varsity football team during the annual Lindenhurst Union Free School District homecoming festivities.
The events began on Oct. 6 with the middle school pep rally. Student-athletes from all teams showed their Lindy Pride, donning green and white and cheering from the bleachers.

It was a weekend full of festivities as West Babylon School District celebrated its homecoming on Oct. 7. Starting with a pep rally at West Babylon Senior High School on Oct. 6 and ending with a homecoming dance on the evening of Oct. 7, the district and community came together to show their West Babylon pride.
West Islip football’s playoff run concludes in County title game
It’s a short drive between North Babylon and West Islip High Schools. Whether you take Deer Park Avenue or 231, the trip is short. That is what makes the rivalry so good…proximity.

Fall-themed activities held at Woodhull Elementary
Woodhull Elementary School students and staff members in the Fire Island School District took part in a number of spirited and educational fall-themed activities designed to not only celebrate the change in the season but also the Halloween holiday.
Nine John F. Kennedy students participate in PEAK Festival

Kennedy Intermediate School were chosen to participate in the ninth annual Suffolk County Music Educators Association’s PEAK Festival, held at Northport High School.
Students at William Rall Elementary in Lindenhurst explore fire safety
Members of the North Lindenhurst Fire Department visited students at William Rall Elementary School to discuss fire safety. Students attended a brief assembly, where they viewed a video on the importance of smoke detectors and creating a family fire exit plan.
